Eisteddford Years Project
With the National Eisteddfod returning to Ebbw Vale next year Ebbw Vale and District Trust has been awarded £45,900 by the Heritage lottery Fund enabling us to set up a project where we will look at two particular time periods linked to the Eisteddfod in Ebbw Vale 1958 - 2010, from this project we want to identify the social and Architectural changes within the valleys and compare the lives of the young people to now, we want to know what type of music they listen to what would they do in their social time etc.
We are also looking to find the original flower girls that took part in the last Ebbw Vale Eisteddfod in 1958 and gather the community’s memories form this time period. From gathering this information we will create a bilingual DVD of the community’s memories of the 1958 Eisteddfod without this project these memories wouldn’t be brought to light and in time would be forgotten.
